Two-Year-Olds
Researchers say that sensory experiences and social interactions with supportive adults will help your child to develop thinking abilities. Your two year old will be immersed in an environment that is rich and stimulating both emotionally and intellectually. On a given day in our two’s program your child may have a conversation with all of the stuffed animals.
The Creative Curriculum encourages this type of dialogue and the teachers support these pretend games and may suggest to your child that the animals go to the "park" to swing on the swings. This type of "play" encourages language skill and thinking that are essential when your child is old enough to begin to read. Gathering together in circle time each day is important. Games, songs, bible verse and prayer during circle time allows your two year old to express emotion, identify songs, encourage sharing, and learn from memory.
The classroom environment is full of everyday objects that are a great source of inspiration for conversation and language development. The sensory table, family style dining, and the out door play yard are a wonderful addition to the excellent experience your two year old will have at RKZ.
